Reasons we follow God's laws

The law is all about "do good, get good" or "do good

else God will punish you". But Grace is all about "do good

with love because you want to do it". So what I am saying is

that, people(over 75% of the world) who are still under the law

try to do good for 1 or 2 of the following reasons:

1. So that God won't punish them.

2.To please God so that God will repay them with more

blessings.

First of all, if you are following God's laws simply

because you are scared of condemnation, it means you are

not following his laws with any Love. It means the only

reason you are following the law is so that God would not

punish you. That is a huge mistake. If we are obeying God's

laws for fear of punishment, it means we don't know how

loving, caring, and merciful God is. And that implies that we

don't even know the father. We don't really understand who

God is. My dear brethren, God is full of love not

condemnation. Think about it. How can a man sacrifice His

only son for you and yet you still think He would condemn

you? God is our heavenly loving father, not our heavenly

condemning father. He loves us so much that He sacrificed

His only holy son on the cross(see Jn 3:16) so that we should

experience His true love and mercy; which means no more

condemnation(His law). So God's aim is not to condemn

people or punish people. His aim is that He would love and

care for us, and we would love and serve Him. Think of it this

way. Is a loving father's main aim to punish the son over any

little mistake? Definitely not. So why do we keep condemning

people and making people feel bad with the law? God gave

these laws to show our mistake and then gave Jesus(Grace)

to solve those mistakes. So my question is "why are we going

back to laws which Jesus fulfilled and abolished"?

Secondly, we are still trying to please God. If you want to

please God, simply accept Jesus in your heart sincerely. The

bible says "seek ye first the kingdom of God and everything

else shall follow"(see Matt 6:33). Following God's law(which

he abolished) is not seeking first the kingdom. Following the

law means that we want to try on our own to please God.

We keep thinking that the more we follow God's law, the

more He blesses us. I am here to tell you that, that is not the

God we serve. God blesses His children according to His will.

The bible didn't say "God blesses His children according to

number of laws they obey". The bible points out that God

blesses His children according to His riches in glory in Christ

(see Phil 4:19). So, all you have to do is to sincerely accept

Christ in your life wholeheartedly and receive the abundant

blessings from God; as simple as that. Remember, Jesus is

easy to receive but not cheap.
